No Vendor Fee for Students
As currently structured, it costs vendors $250 per day to secure a spot for a booth in the UCC atrium. While this seems to be a fair amount to charge local London vendors, we do not believe it is fair to charge our own students a fee to access the Western student market. Team Ocean will be looking forward to eliminating the vendor fee to students who are looking for the opportunity to showcase and sell their products. All undergraduate students enrolled in full-time studies will have access to showcase their products, such as artwork, music, jewelry, fashion line, software apps and more. After a swift application and approval process via an online application, students will be able to showcase their products at the UCC atrium without worrying about sales.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
We recognize that by creating Team Ocean, we essentially are embarking on a journey that offers a great experiential learning opportunity for all those involved in the campaign. We also recognize the importance of having stable experiential learning opportunities available to students with diverse backgrounds and interests. Team Ocean will always look towards supporting and advocating for the retention of student-run organizations that allow Western students to learn outside of the classroom. As a referendum in the upcoming election may determine the long-term viability of 94.9 CHRW Radio Western, we would like to share the importance of making an educated decision when voting. Furthermore, we will continue to support the long-term stability of all experiential learning opportunities that offer students the ability to learn outside of the classroom.
Cryptocurrency ATMs on Campus
Whether or not you understand it, you’ve heard the term Bitcoin. Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, a form of digital currency, have exhibited exponential growth over the past several years. As a larger number of students begin to invest and hold cryptocurrency, it becomes imperative that they have access to their funds. Team Ocean will work towards increasing accessibility to the blockchain and cryptocurrencies on campus.
